Support for Wattpoth’s social welfare program

The International Human Rights Commission supports the provision of humanitarian aid to low-income families in the Ampara district.


The International Human Rights Commission and the Shri Hela Cultural Collaboration Foundation have recently supported the Watpotha Social Welfare Programme, which carries out extensive social work for the oppressed sections of society.


According to Dr. Chrishantha Dissanayake, Sri Lanka Commissioner of the International Human Rights Commission, on the initiative of Mr. Deshmanya Thilina Jayasinghe, Volunteer Coordinator of the International Human Rights Commission and Eastern Regional Director of the Shri Hela Cultural Collaboration Foundation, dry food was distributed to the low income families of Ampara Mahaoya village and educational materials were also provided to the children of Helakomana Maha Vidyalaya living in these families.


He stated that Mr. Thilina Jayasinghe received the full support and cooperation of the Vatpotha Social Care Programme officials during the implementation of this programme.
Mr. Deshmanya Thilina Jayasinghe, the Volunteer Coordinator of the International Human Rights Commission, the Eastern Regional Director of the Shri Hela Cultural Collaboration Foundation and other officials of the Watpotha Social Care Programme were also involved.
